Keep driving. The check-in felt cold, and the owner was rude. He doesn't answer the phone or Booking messages. When I came back to ask if he'd found my electric toothbrush, he banned me for life because I asked why he never answers the phone. He doesn't seem to believe in dental hygiene, either. The pool is advertised, but it needs ALOT of work.

We all got a good night's sleep in rooms that were pretty clean and neat, with everything we needed and more. I usually don't like motels because they're often not clean, so I really appreciated the owners' help and enthusiasm. We arrived quite late last night with a big group, and they found us four rooms. They even helped us cook eggs. Thanks to the owner couple!

After driving for two days with my wife and toddler, we arrived after 3 in the afternoon and were told our room had been given away. We'd booked online months earlier and confirmed closer to the wedding that everything was fine. We were in town for a local wedding, and they said the room had gone to the wedding family so they could all stay together. We found another hotel a couple of minutes later. Then other wedding guests told us management had lost their room keys at check-in, leaving them all waiting in one room with their little child while it was sorted out. This place didn't seem well managed or very trustworthy.

The manager even said I could use the pool, so I ended up floating under the stars like a Walmart James Bond. The staff welcomed us like long-lost cousins at a family BBQ, and we had a clean, cozy room that smelled like fresh linen. The beds were comfier than your aunt's couch after turkey dinner. Take note Golden BC Days In. We rolled into Barriere late at night, tired and looking for somewhere to crash, and Monte Carlo Motel came through. It's super affordable and friendly, with no haunted TV in sight. The manager's little fluffy dog seemed like it ran the place, a tiny monarch living better than most people. I'd pet that four-legged aristocrat again, and I'd almost move in or send them a Christmas card. Come for the beds, stay for the vibes, maybe become best friends with the manager and their dog.
