Atlantic Host Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndh

The hot tub jets have apparently been broken for years, and it was closed for the day when we were there. We also waited about an hour and a half to be served at the restaurant despite having a reservation. In the room, the toilet wobbled, the decor felt dated, and there was only one very thin summer blanket on the bed. There was nowhere to charge a phone without bringing a plug. We won’t stay again. Next time we come snowmobiling, we’ll look for a better place.

In winter, they seem keen to welcome snowmobilers, with rentals available and an indoor pool and sauna for after a day out riding. Parking can get chaotic, though. Some guests arrive with their own sleds on trailers, and not everyone is considerate, which can leave others frustrated.

I booked at the last minute and got lucky with a great suite at the Atlantic Host hotel. The room was incredible, and check-in was easy and pleasant. It’s right off the TCH, which is convenient. I’ll probably stay in Bathurst again just to return here.

The bar service was excellent, our meal was delicious, and our server was amazing. We knew the location from a previous visit, right off the highway with a Tim Hortons at the end of the parking lot, so that was as expected. But this time away as a couple was disappointing. The bed creaked whenever either of us moved, the pillows were lumpy, and the mattress felt hard and uneven. The bathroom door was under two feet wide, and sitting on the toilet made it hard to reach the paper without banging an elbow. When I mentioned it, the gentleman at the front desk laughed it off.
