Hostellerie du Suroît

The room was clean, and the bathroom had thoughtful touches that seemed useful for guests. There’s also a nice view from the common area, with snacks like yogurt, bread, peanut butter and cornflakes, plus a coffee machine. The receptionist was warm and helpful, and parking right in front is plentiful and free. The mattress being set straight on a hardboard instead of a proper bed frame was a letdown. Still, the place felt like a cozy cottage getaway, and I thought it was good value for the price. My stay was peaceful and welcoming despite that drawback.

The owner was so friendly and helpful, and we could use the lounge overlooking the river. Our room was small, but it was clean and renovated, with a mini fridge and a little shower. I didn’t actually shower there. There’s no elevator, though, and no restaurant within walking distance. I loved the place.

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was delicious. I loved coming back to this hotel, especially for its great location and breathtaking view.

The waterfront backyard was lovely, and the location was quiet, with good options for biking or walking. Staff were helpful with our bags so we could grab breakfast and go. The continental breakfast was limited but satisfactory. Our room was clean and fairly small, though comfortable. Service was good despite the challenging conditions for staff while the hotel was an active voting location.
