We stayed three nights at the Desert Surfside this summer, and the staff made the experience excellent. Every interaction was completely satisfactory, especially with Isy the manager, who was awesome. The room was clean, had a kitchenette, and was right on the beach. They went above and beyond to make the stay perfect. I left a pair of earbuds behind when I checked out. I called, and they found them and are sending them to me. Highly recommend.

The staff are fantastic: friendly, accommodating, and quick to deal with any problem. The units are clean and comfortable, with furnishings that are fairly similar since they’re privately owned. There are studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options, and they’re all self-contained with pretty much everything you need. The beach area is nice, with loungers, chairs, and umbrellas available to use.

We’ve been grateful for many years of monthly rentals here. Winter, or “snowbird,” season has a bit of the feel of the movie “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” quirky and wonderful. Manager Isy is caring and thoughtful, and makes us feel like beloved members of the Surfside family. The rooms are nice too, and the beach, sagebrush hills, and lake views round it all out. Highly recommended!

The room feels dated, but it was clean, which mattered most to us. I’m giving five stars for the staff, especially Andrew, who was sincere and really helpful. He made sure we had a parking spot and even moved vehicles around to make it work. We asked him where to eat, tried one of his recommendations, and had a great meal and time at Owl Pub. There’s also a nice beach just a 15-second walk behind the building, though it’s very family-oriented.
