We expected the Best Western Plus in Osoyoos to be good for Snowbirds, based on our stays at many Best Western Plus hotels in Canada and the USA, but we were very disappointed. The room was never cleaned properly, and noise was atrocious because there was no sound barrier. We were on the second floor and could hear people walking above us, along with showers and toilets flushing. The breakfast included powdered eggs. After a month and a half, we were still finding dog food behind furniture, even after being told the rugs had been shampooed. Today we found someone’s pill in the living room. The cancellation terms were another major problem. We were given a contract saying there’d be no charge if we cancelled before 4pm the day before month end, and $54.00 after that. We gave five days’ notice, but they’re charging us half a month’s rent, $850.00. That’s absurd, especially since we were told there was a waiting list for Snowbirds. Management says longer stays require 14 days’ notice, but we were never given a long-stay contract. That should have been stated in the contract or on the Website. Calling it out only later feels like False Advertising. Health circumstances can change, and sometimes 14 days’ notice isn’t possible. This has been a disgraceful display of management. I hope the owners are happy with their choice. I’ll NEVER, EVER come back, and I plan to talk about this place whenever I get the chance. Total Best Western Plus Disappointment.

The staff we dealt with were pleasant and seemed happy to work there. The hotel was clean throughout, with a large room, comfortable bed, fridge, relaxing chair, desk, and windows that opened with screens. It’s a nice, typical BW+. There was a good range at breakfast: eggs, sausage, potato triangles, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, muffins, bread, a toaster, a pancake maker, and fresh whole fruit. The potatoes were barely warm, though, and the pancakes were dollar-sized. There were also a few bottles of Adaga wine in the room for purchase. We’d just visited the nearby Adaga winery. We’ll be back.

The room and beds were shockingly dirty. The sheets and pillowcases had lots of black marks, and one quilt had a few blood stains. The fridge was dirty with food scraps and didn’t work. The manager came to take pictures and arranged another room, but had a poor attitude and blamed the cleaning staff. In the new room, the sheets and pillowcases still had black and shoe marks, and there was a clipped nail in the bathroom sink. It was late, I’d had a long day, and I still had a long road trip ahead, so I didn’t have the energy to ask for another room. It probably would have been just as bad anyway. After checking earlier reviews, I saw reports of bed bug problems linked to the blood stains, and honestly started panicking. I’ve enjoyed other BW hotels and paid more to stay here for peace of mind. After this, I’ll never stay at another BW.

The pool and tub area was the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Parkeet, the night manager, was exceptional, friendly, and welcoming. Best place to stay in the south Okanagan.

We celebrated our anniversary at Best Western Plus Osoyoos Hotel & Suites and had a wonderful stay. Our cozy two-room suite was very clean and had everything: a kitchen, living room, workspace, and a separate bedroom with two comfortable beds. Breakfast was included, and it was great that the hotel welcomes pets, so we could bring our cat. The setting helped make the trip memorable. Osoyoos Lake felt like a real Shangri-La in Canada, with beautiful views, warm water, and a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended!
