The room itself also needed attention. There was a lot of dust underneath the phone when we checked why it had no dial tone, and the cable only worked if held in a certain position. It seemed to need replacing. We had a similar problem with the TV, and found heavy dust behind it while checking. The room didn’t feel properly cleaned or maintained. What upset us most was how our report about the pool incident was handled. The next morning, general manager Rose initially listened, but became dismissive and condescending as we talked. Rather than show concern or discuss a resolution, she told us we were “free to check out.” We felt unwelcome, even though we were paying guests, and that our concerns were being minimized. She said that because my partner was standing, nothing serious had happened, but she couldn’t medically determine that he was completely fine. Not needing emergency care doesn’t mean there was no injury or pain. At first, Tesha at reception was very friendly and welcoming, so we had a good first impression. During our stay, though, a plastic chair at the pool suddenly broke on the side when my partner sat down. He tried to keep from falling backward and hitting his head on the metal edge near the window, but a broken piece pierced his side. It left bruises and caused pain in his chest muscles, which continued through the night even though he could stand afterward. Once he was able to get up, he went straight to reception and reported it. Staff said they would handle it and tell the manager, so we reported what happened that same night. It was also embarrassing when nearby people laughed after seeing him fall. When we asked to speak with someone above the general manager, she said she was the highest authority there and that contacting the franchise would eventually bring us back to her. We later contacted customer care, hoping for an independent response, but they just referred us to the same manager. It was very disappointing to feel left without meaningful support or a resolution after reporting the incident and trying to follow the proper process.

We stayed three nights with six people and would happily return with our friends. There are food and entertainment options close by, and it’s easy to get to the highway or into Truro. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with excellent toiletries. The breakfast room is a bit tight, but there are plenty of hot and cold choices. Just be patient, and remember there’s extra seating around the corner in the meeting room.

The pool and slide were the best, and really kid friendly! The room and hotel were very clean, and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was yummy too, especially the pancakes 🥞. Very pleased.

For my 3 day stay, there were too many positives to list. Great place, great people, and a great experience. Thanks to everyone. I’ll return once my nfld trip is complete. Simply, thanks.
