The evening was more affordable than I expected, and the service was friendly and attentive. We came for dinner knowing the prices might be steep, portions small, and service indifferent, but the food was surprisingly incredible. The decor and atmosphere made it a memorable night. It was dark, so we couldn't see the scenery, but we'd like to come back in summer and enjoy that too.

The manager did comp our meal, but the evening at the restaurant was still a big disappointment. Since we didn't have a reservation on a Friday, we were seated at the bar, which I understood. Our appetizers arrived cold, then the mains took more than an hour. While waiting, we were asked to move to the bar's service area even though the dining room was a third empty. The manager said it had to be kept open in case patio guests wanted to come inside, and told us we knew what sitting at the bar meant. I've never been moved like that, even in busier restaurants. We didn't want to cause trouble, so we stayed, but the mains came lukewarm and cooked wrong. I asked for rare steak and got medium-well. Management should think about when to accept walk-ins, since we would have gone elsewhere if they couldn't accommodate us. This is only about my restaurant visit, but I've heard good things about the drake devonshire and hope a future visit goes better.

Celine and Keagan made the evening for our group at The Drake. They were warm from the start, attentive, and made sure we had what we needed. Their service felt professional but also kind and fun, and we left feeling well looked after. I'd recommend asking for them if you can.

The service made our High Tea visit at the Drake Devonshire restaurant especially memorable. Ashlee, our waitress, was sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and gave us wonderful service.
