Hotel Mortagne

I was here for business, and the pool and hot tub were probably the nicest I’ve seen in a hotel. They aren’t huge, but they were clean, modern, and well maintained, so I went every one of my three nights. The rooms also felt very modern, with fancy lighting and nice amenities. Shampoo and body wash come in wall-mounted dispensers instead of tiny bottles. The hotel is in an industrial area, though there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Sens, the restaurant on site, serves very good food that’s a bit above the usual level. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

The room was spacious and looked nice, and both it and the hotel smelled pleasant. But the tub was clogged, leaving it full of dirty foam, and they were stingy with toiletries. The AC was really loud. There weren’t full blackout curtains, so the room didn’t feel fully private. The beds were awful, portable ones that you raise vertically against the wall. That bed style wasn’t mentioned in the room details when I booked, and I slept very poorly.

I stayed at Hotel Mortagne recently and it was alright overall. The room was clean and comfortable. The AC made a loud, noticeable noise whenever the fan cycled on and off in auto mode, which was disruptive. Besides that, it was a pleasant stay with solid accommodations.

I picked this hotel because I had a business meeting nearby the next day. When I arrived around 9PM, I was told room service wasn’t available because the kitchen was being used for a party. At breakfast the next morning, one waitress was looking after every table. I waited 10 minutes to be seated, then gave up because I figured ordering would take forever. The room itself was spacious and clean, but the poor service spoiled the stay for me.
