Kelly's View Motel

The owner was really friendly and knew the area well. She’s only been running the motel for a year and is working to improve it. We picked it for the price and location. The room was small but fine, and the bed was comfortable, though the Wi-Fi was minimal. We hadn’t expected there to be no air conditioning. With the windows open and the fan on, highway noise came through clearly.

The room was clean and in very good shape, and the staff were kind both at check-in and check-out. It was a nice stay for a decent price. We spent one night here before heading to the Cabot Trail, which added about a 20-minute round trip detour. I’d recommend it to people staying in the area.

We stayed here twice, once before the ferry to Newfoundland and again after we returned. It’s about 15 minutes from the ferry, easy to find on the main highway, and marked by a big sign. The beds were possibly the most comfortable of our whole trip, and the rooms were clean. Service was quick and caring, and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. A handy spot for a night or two while travelling, especially if you’re taking that ferry.

The view was beautiful, and the place was cozy and clean. We’ll come back, but next time we’re bringing earplugs, lol. There’s a lot of building noise, you can hear neighbours on both sides, and cars going by, so it’s not a good fit if you want quiet. Still, I’d recommend it to anyone needing a motel.
