Rosie from England made a stressful moment so much easier. After we drove about two hours to Emerald Lake, my son got a big splinter in his little finger from a wooden fence near the kayaks. At reception, Rosie jumped in and dealt with it quickly. Her kindness really saved our family trip. We’re so grateful for the care and great service from Rosie and the whole Emerald Lake Lodge team.

The lodge’s spot is great for exploring Yoho, and Banff is easy to get to too. We especially liked having a fireplace and balcony in our room, plus the hot tub after a day out. There’s no cell phone network in the main lodge, which suited the quiet, unplugged feel. The restaurant was excellent as well. We’d definitely like to return.

A quick drive gets you to Field, or you can head farther on to Golden. Back at the lodge, the food and range of drinks were great, and the setting, views, staff, and atmosphere all made it a memorable place to unwind. Internet is really only available in the lodge, but I didn’t mind. It was nice to disconnect from our devices. If getting away from everything sounds good, you won’t regret staying here.

The food and staff were amazing, and the setting is stunning, but the cabins need a lot of work. The walls were beat up, there was mold in the bathroom, the decks were dirty and rotting, a closet door was missing, and the windows wouldn’t close. Dirty laundry bags sat outside the cabins for most of the day. Management showed zero pride of ownership. Until things are updated, I’d treat this as a day trip for a hike and dinner, then stay elsewhere. The chef is amazing, but it’s not worth $600 plus per night. PS: no need to reply with the usual vanilla response.

The lake, mountains, and forests around Emerald Lake are beautiful and peaceful. We also had a cozy, very clean room with a spectacular view. The staff and management were welcoming, professional, and sincerely friendly, and every meal was delicious with excellent service. Don’t pass this place up.
