The man who checked us in was really nice and helpful, and the room itself was clean, pleasant, and partly updated. The location is handy, about a 15-minute walk from town and an easy drive to some great trails. The problem was the heavy smoke smell. It didn't seem like old residue from a past guest; it felt as if someone in the next room was smoking and the odor was coming through the ventilation. Our belongings smelled like smoke when we got home. Without that, I would have rated it higher. It could be a very pleasant stay and good value.

We could pay in cash, which is surprisingly hard to find, and the front desk gentleman was very polite and friendly. The air conditioning wasn't fully set up yet because they were getting ready for summer, but otherwise things were nice, especially for the price.

The rooms were very clean, but at $190 for one night I'm not sure the price was justified. The air conditioning was loud, and there should be a lamp between the beds. There was a strong smoke smell, likely left by past guests, and it seemed impossible to clear. The exterior also looks very dated and needs an overhaul.

After several weeks in a temporary housing arrangement through Community Living, I was suddenly evicted over vague claims about my behavior, with no warning or process. I had been quiet and cooperative. Staff let me pack my belongings until 11:00 AM, which I appreciated, but management offered no support, and I felt treated like a problem instead of a person. The whole thing was extremely destabilizing. If you're placed here through emergency housing or Community Living South Muskoka, be aware that I found it unsafe and not trauma-informed. Once inside, you're on your own, with no on-site help or understanding of mental health or housing trauma. I'm sharing this to help others in a vulnerable situation avoid being caught off guard, not to attack anyone. Homelessness is hard enough already.
