Knights Inn Burlington, ON

We came to see family and only needed somewhere for a night or two. The room was clean, if a little dated, and about what you'd expect for the price in the area. Smoking is allowed out front, which is hard to find these days since most places are smoke free. The front end gentleman was especially kind and let me check out late. For families looking for things to do, it may not be ideal, since I'm not sure what's nearby for entertainment. But it's clean, kind, and accommodating, and we'd stay again based on the cleanliness and his service alone.

I just wanted a peaceful night away from home, but the room was filthy and the stay was really unpleasant. Dusty cobwebs covered the ceiling and corners, and the bedroom and bathroom surfaces looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for weeks, if not months. I scrubbed the bathtub more than 5 times myself after asking the hotel attendant to clean everything. She said it had been cleaned, which left me in shock. I was gone for only 2 hours, and when I came back someone had entered the room and moved my things. My silver anklet with turquoise and amber crystals was gone, and so was my fire opal bracelet.

The location was good, and the employee was pleasant at check-in. I left 10 minutes later. The room looked good in the picture, but had no real ventilation, felt muggy, and smelled bad. Some surfaces were sticky, the baseboard was stained, and the night lamp didn't work. If you only need somewhere to sleep and can live with those issues, it could save you some money. For more comfort, I'd spend extra $$ on a nicer place.

I booked this for my daughter and a school colleague to attend a conference. A family emergency meant they had to leave a day early, but the inn refused to refund the second night. I couldn't find an online policy saying it was nonrefundable. The Manager said I'd get a call back, but never called, and didn't return later calls either. Expedia tried to help, but the "inn" refused again. DO NOT STAY HERE.
