After 36 hours of travel, arriving late in the evening and being able to settle straight into a comfortable apartment made all the difference. It had a spacious lounge and dining area, a large TV, a work station, a well-equipped kitchen, a spotless bathroom with towels and toiletries, and a roomy bedroom with plenty of storage and a walk-in closet. The washer and dryer were excellent, and sliding doors opened from the lounge onto a balcony. Derek from maintenance was there to check me in. The building has round-the-clock coverage and security. The next day, Carly at reception helped me with directions to meetings and shops and sorted out the TV. Bill, the maintenance manager, got the streaming working right away. During my two-week stay Carly answered my questions and pointed me toward the Field of Crosses for the Remembrance day service and my first Calgary Flames hockey game. When she wasn’t available, Shereen stepped in. Housekeeping kept the place immaculate, and the whole building was well maintained. Alforno café is about a two-minute walk away, with a corner shop right opposite ExecSuite’s main doors for basic groceries. Buchanan, also two minutes away, is a great choice for a special meal. The commercial centre is a 15-minute walk, including the upscale shopping centre The Core. Chinook Centre is a good shopping outing, about Can$8 by Uber, which has excellent coverage in Calgary. Bannf is about two hours away by a good bus service, with a Can$25 return fare. I can’t thank the staff enough, especially Carly, for making me feel at home.
