Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary South

The carpet on the 3rd floor really needs replacing, and the door to my suite, # 310, was broken. It's good that renovations are underway. Service at the front desk was great, and Emily from breakfast was especially attentive. Every morning I saw her checking if guests needed anything or wanted something brought from the counter, while constantly cleaning tables, floors and the breakfast area. She always spoke to guests with a smile.

I stayed six nights while visiting Calgary, and this hotel met all my expectations, even with my fairly high standards. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, with good quality stainless steel pans instead of the scratched, old ceramic ones you often see. The bed was comfortable, the linens were cotton rather than cheap microfiber, and the bathroom and shower were great. Everything was very clean. I even got a call on my cell asking whether I'd like the room cleaned after I put up the 'Do not disturb' sign. That hasn't happened at other hotels, and I've stayed in quite a few. Breakfast was tasty and really good. The pool had a nice slide, though it was a bit small. It's a hotel, not a water park, so a small pool is what you'd expect. A superb stay, and I can truly recommend it. Thank you!

The breakfast was a really nice surprise, and my seven-year-old called our room “cozy.” My daughter was also thrilled with the pool. It’s a beautiful hotel with helpful, friendly staff, and we’d happily stay at this location again.

Praneetha really came through when I was sorting out my stay between landing at the airport and getting to check-in. Huge thanks, she saved me at just the right time. The conference rooms were exactly as described, and the location, clean rooms, and friendly staff were all great.
