Country Squire Motor Inn

At checkout I mentioned that staff had eaten in my room, left food scraps on the floor, and that I'd found a mouse. I was then charged for an extra night, and only found out after paying. They promised to refund it, but more than a month has passed and I still haven't received the money. It had seemed fine before all that. The front desk took no responsibility, so keep driving unless you want to lose money.

We were charged $160 for a disgusting room, and I felt we were profiled because of our race and the vehicle we were driving. I would have left as soon as I got into the room if I hadn't been too tired to drive safely, but I had no other option. There was hair on the pillowcases, the sheets probably hadn't been changed, the bathroom was horrible and I had to clean it myself. The floors hadn't even been cleaned, and the room was freezing.

I only stayed because every other place in town was full. The staff were friendly, and the price was probably the lowest around, but I wouldn't want to come back. The rooms need renovations, and it looks like they've had only the bare minimum of upkeep. I'm not sure the heater worked. The fridge had been switched off and defrosted onto the floor, which I stepped in.

I was a little wary after reading some reviews, but Country Squire Inn suited what I needed really well. The host was lovely, the room was tidy and clean, and the location gave easy access to a grocery store, drugstore and general store. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and parking was reasonably priced. Wi-Fi was pretty weak near the rooms at the end, but the stay was a good value.
