Homewood

I stayed here for three weeks for work, and the team was incredibly generous and accommodating. The service was outstanding. Breakfast and the Wednesday night dinners were excellent, on par with the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The rooms could use a little updating, but the service more than made up for that. Thanks to the whole team for a great stay. I love this hotel!

We’ve been coming to Cambridge from BC every year and have always stayed at Homewood, recommending it to friends visiting the KW area. This year, they mishandled our reservation and wouldn’t honor the price difference for the room we ended up in. My wife has a physical handicap, which we’d noted on the reservation when booking a specific room type. The front desk staff weren’t cordial or understanding, and even accused us of making things up despite our screenshots. The toilet in the room we hadn’t reserved was broken too, and maintenance had to come. We’ve started planning for next year, and we’re definitely not returning to Homewood Suites Cambridge.

When a local power outage lasted a few days, we brought our family and our two dogs to this hotel, which stayed open with power. The location was nice, and we enjoyed the pool. It had showers for rinsing off, and there was a little store for snacks. I did have my shoes stolen while I was in the pool. We’d hoped to watch some movies, but there were no movie channels. We had to go downstairs and rent a DVD, which seemed odd for a place like this. There wasn’t much of a selection either, and we ended up with some Disney movie we’d never heard of.

We had a spacious one-bedroom room with two queen beds, and the kitchen had plenty for four: plates, utensils, glassware, a cutting board, knife, decent sized pots and pans, full-sized fridge, microwave, cooktop, and toaster. The lounge area was large, and breakfast was good, with very good coffee. It was a busy weekend, so utensils and some food items ran out quickly. The pool area looked quite dated, and water on the deck didn’t drain well. The kids still had a great time swimming.
