The Drake Inn

We booked the Three Sisters Mountain View at The Drake for a family stay, and waking up to the mountains was a highlight. It’s very affordable for Canmore, especially for the location and views, and we had a great experience. We’d gladly stay again and recommend it. The front desk team were helpful, accommodating, and full of information, even over the busy December 24-26 holiday dates. They gave us a list of restaurants and stores that were open and pointed out which ones needed reservations.

The room was clean and stocked, and the hotel itself was good. But the woman at the front desk on Nov 23 was extremely rude and disrespectful on the phone. I was trying to ask why I’d been charged twice, and she started yelling and wouldn’t let me speak. My bank had to dispute the charge because she wasn’t listening to what I said. I’ve never been spoken to that way by a business employee. I’d stay at the hotel again, but I hope the owner or manager talks to her about how to treat paying customers.

The staff were very friendly and even adjusted things when I needed to stay an extra night. The restaurant had reopened while I was there, and the food was great. It’s an older inn, but the rooms have been updated and are pretty friendly too. Roku on the TV was a nice change. This is my go-to place in Canmore now.

It’s a decent, basic hotel downtown with a great mountain view and an easy walk to all the amenities. Still, we slept horribly because the people above us stomped around like elephants for half the night.
