Golden West Motor Inn

Having a separate Wi-Fi connection in the room was a nice bonus, so there was no worrying about someone next door taking up all the bandwidth. The motel was quiet and clean, and the staff were friendly with great service. For this price, it's hard to find another motel that compares. If you're in the area and need somewhere to stay, Golden West Motor Inn is a good choice.

We were asked for a $200 damage deposit, which felt like a ridiculous amount for this kind of place. The whole arrival was strange. I'd spoken with a woman on the phone and everything seemed fine, but when we got there, the owner said we had the wrong place. I called the same number, and he seemed surprised when it rang, then accused me of having an animal. He even went outside to look in my vehicle, but there wasn't one. Odd people running this place.

The kitchenettes have a nicely sized fridge, and the manager Simon was super friendly. It was also a quiet spot and very clean. Probably the best motel I've stayed at. I'd definitely come back.

The room was clean, warm and comfortable, with toiletries and strong Wi-Fi. After that awful ride, Julia made the day so much better. We were on our motorcycle from Edmonton to Calgary on Aug22/16, a trip that should take three hours, but pounding rain and 50mph winds had us worn out and freezing. We pulled into Carstairs and were lucky to find this motel. We arrived soaked, and Julia quickly brought us towels. While my husband did the paperwork, she showed me to the room and switched on the heater. She also dried our wet clothes, and we could warm our boots and gloves on the heater. This place deserves its five stars, maybe more. Julia really is a customer service Queen, and we appreciated how genuinely concerned she was. Thank you for brightening a horrible day.
