This was the worst hotel stay I've had. I booked on the night of Jan 4th because a heavy storm hit St. Johns and I work at the airport, so staying there felt safer. At 11:30pm, the person in the room above came back. For the next 30-45m, even their ordinary walking around was incredibly loud through the poor sound insulation. It woke me, and I couldn't get back to sleep for a while. Then at 2am, the fire alarm in my room started beeping “beep beep beep low battery” over and over because the batteries hadn't been changed. I had to work at 6am, so I checked out at that point. It was clear I wasn't going to sleep there. I explained what happened to the front desk worker, who said all he could do was offer a different room. After what I'd already seen of the building and its maintenance, I declined. He said a manager would get in touch, but six days later I still hadn't heard anything. The pool and gym area is nice, and the lobby is tastefully furnished. It started snowing around 9pm, though, and when I left at 2:15am the parking lot hadn't been cleared. Snow was over my ankles. If you need somewhere near the airport, I'd try the Holiday Inn or an Airbnb. I sometimes order from their restaurant when The Rock is closed. The food is average at best for the price. You can get WAY better food at The Rock next door for what they charge.

Everything about the hotel itself was great, and I’ll stay again, just not when teams are there. I was in town for business. The location was handy for the airport, and the check-in staff were fun and efficient. My room was clean and well appointed. The problem was groups of kids and parents taking over the halls and lobby, with the kids running, yelling and laughing without supervision. I was at the counter at 1am talking to the night shift worker, who was trying to help and was very pleasant and apologetic. He brought over the teams' coordinator, who was drunk and did nothing. The manager handled things as well as he could the next day and was very pleasant. The hotel did what it could, and I don't blame them. This is a message to the team parents: you can't sit in the bar getting drunk while your kids run wild until the early morning.

The hotel and staff were great, but the restaurant food felt a bit overpriced and the steak was just okay. The pool was really cold and overcrowded, and someone in our group hurt their elbow on the slide. I don't think we'll be back soon. We'll try somewhere else next time.

I had a lovely glass of wine and the best burger and sweet potato fries EVER. The women working in the restaurant and bar were so cheerful and pleasant. My room was spotless, the bedding fresh, and the bed really comfortable. I was there for one night before an early flight, and I'd definitely stay again, especially for that burger and fries 😜.

The hotel was spotless and well cared for, and the housekeeping team did a fantastic job. Everyone from the front desk and housekeeping was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Will, the Director of Operations, was especially thoughtful and professional. He clearly cared about making sure we were comfortable and happy. We had a great stay thanks to the staff and the overall quality of the hotel. There's a lot of pride and care in how the place is maintained, and I'd highly recommend it for the comfort, service and attention to detail.
