Grey Goose Motel

The staff were really friendly and helpful. I came from Hay Lakes to Castor for a basketball tournament, and the room was comfortable. It’s a little dated, but for the price, the stay was worth it.

We were stuck in Castor for a few days while my truck was being repaired, and the woman at the front desk was the best. She was very accommodating and happy to bring more towels when we asked. It’s no fancy five-star motel, but you absolutely can’t beat it for the price. My family stayed warm, the AC worked well, the rooms were clean, and the TV worked. Thanks, Grey goose! There are a few convenience store items for sale in the office, which is handy. The motel itself is basic, but clean and has what you need. The “continental breakfast” is just two kinds of cereal, and you may have to wait for the coffee to be made, but at least there’s something. For the price, it’s a decent deal. You can’t expect a high end room, but I’d recommend it. It beats paying twice as much for a place that’s only a little more modern.

Being less than a block from the baseball diamond made this a convenient place to stay while we were in town for travel Baseball with the boy. We didn’t stay with the team in Stettler. The service was great, and while breakfast wasn’t extravagant, it was breakfast. The place could use a bit more housekeeping, and the light was missing its cover, but for what I paid, I could live with that. We like motels run by people instead of corporations, even if they’re not always glamorous. I’ve stayed at a Ramada where there was a ball of toilet paper under the sheets, and that room cost a heck of a lot more. This wasn’t a bad stay, and for the value I’d recommend the Grey Goose.
