Bugaboo Cottages

The goats, chickens, rabbits, and gorgeous horses were lovely to see, and there was plenty to enjoy outside, from the little above-ground pool and hot tub to badminton, a slack line, and a hammock. The cottage has a rustic feel with lots of charming touches. The property is beautiful and well cared for, and the owners were friendly and welcoming while still giving us lots of privacy. It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. I can't wait to return next year. Rob and Cheryl, thanks so much for hosting us!

The hostess was rude and abrupt, which made the stay unpleasant. The cottage itself was cute, and the outdoor area was nice, but it needs more attention and a thorough cleaning. We were missing basic things like proper utensils, dishcloths, and soap. There was an electric fence around the animals, so we could barely interact with them. We were also told when we arrived not to drink the water. That wasn't a major issue, but advance notice would've saved us a trip.

Cheryl watched us whenever we used the hot tub, which is on the balcony of the hosts' main house, and seemed to keep an eye on whatever we were doing around the property. She also repeatedly told my kids how they could play on the swings and in the yard. If you're after privacy, I wouldn't stay here. The goats and horses were behind electric fencing, despite the place being advertised as kid friendly with the chance to interact with farm animals. There was dog poop around the yard by the badminton net and kids' play area. I don't recommend this as a family spot.

We had a nice stay, but Cheryl later left a harsh, overly detailed review on our Airbnb profile. She complained about food on the counter and in the fridge, unopened water and sparkling water, and a few unopened snacks, which could have been left for the next guests. She also criticized us for leaving beach towels in a heap with our towels. We left them because there weren't any beach towels in the cottage, and we had to ask for more. She said we'd left garbage everywhere, but it was one small tied-up bag, not full of dirty diapers as she claimed. I could go on. For an authentic island experience on PEI, I'd stay somewhere else.
