I’ve stayed many times at the Delta downtown Charlottetown, a Marriott Icon hotel right on the waterfront. The staff have always been friendly, respectful, and accommodating, and they’ve treated me like a king, making me feel as though I had the key to their kingdom. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious, with great food in the restaurant. You get lovely views from either side, and the location puts local shops, bars, and restaurants right within reach in the heart of downtown. It’s an amazing convention hotel in a beautiful city, and I just love it.

We didn’t stay overnight, but we went to a gymnastics competition there January 23 and ate at the restaurant afterward. The hotel was super clean, the staff were helpful, and the ballrooms were set up very well for the event. Thirteen of us arrived without a reservation, and the staff welcomed us warmly and seated us in a quieter private dining room. We loved the experience and hope to stay overnight at the next competition.

Kara from housekeeping was so sweet and friendly with our toddler, and I always appreciate cheerful, kind people. The spa was nice too, and Nellie gave me a great massage. They were very accommodating about preferences, which I appreciated. We got a front desk upgrade from Sara through my bonvoy status to a very large junior suite with a jacuzzi. The breakfast buffet was already closed when we went in mid Oct, but they offered anything we wanted from the breakfast menu. The food was delicious and came in large portions. They accommodated us a lot and gave us good portions of delicious berries as requested. My only request is lactose-free milk, not the vegan kind. Thanks to Lisa, Albin, and Isabella for their great service with a smile. The pool was disappointing. The water was really cold, even in the kids wading pool, and the lighting was either too bright or too dark near the kids pool. We didn’t go back after the first time because of the temperature. The sauna whirlpool was nice, but a bit too hot.

The rooms are great, clean, and nicely designed, and the lobby is lovely. It’s a standard Delta hotel, and the location has a great breakfast package available. But the overnight prices are extremely high for the hotel’s age and location. I’ve stayed at other Deltas that are nicer and offer the same for less.

My experience with this property was deeply concerning because of a serious situation involving one of its managers. When I contacted them about a lawful matter, the replies were vague and evasive, with no meaningful help despite the urgency and importance of the issue. Given the nature of the legal matters and the possible risks, that was particularly troubling. The interactions left me seriously concerned about how the property handles matters involving its management team, and how little transparency or cooperation the public can expect when legitimate issues arise. This is my personal experience, shared for public awareness.
