Motel 6 Huntsville, ON

This ruined what should have been an enjoyable trip to celebrate the senior olympics. We were in room 119 when something crawled across my husband's hand. He killed it, and we took it to the front desk as we asked for a refund and prepared to leave. They weren't willing to refund us, and charged $100 for the five hours our things had been in the room.

We stayed two nights while visiting Arrowhead and Algonquin with my daughter and our dogs. There were no extra pet fees, which was great. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly, lending us a charger and bringing extra pillows. The motel is handy for shops and restaurants.

We just wrapped up our second visit, a two-night stay, and enjoyed it. This place is affordable, clean, comfortable, and had the amenities we needed, with everything working. The rooms are small, and the older decor and furniture feel dated, so it isn't the place for a big, fancy stay. The indoor pool is a nice extra. It's not very big, but it's good for cooling off or letting the kids burn off energy, and my kids had it to themselves both times. One front-desk interaction was disappointing: when we asked for toilet paper, they told us to come get it, which was fine. But when my kids and I arrived, the man working stayed on his personal phone speaking another language and used hand signals instead of putting it down and asking what we needed. It didn't feel friendly. Bert was the nicest staff member, though. He kindly brought extra bedding for the kids, checked if we needed anything else, and was friendly and attentive. While I was bringing the vehicle around during checkout, he even got me a trolley. We really appreciated his help. It's not the finest hotel, but it's clean and comfortable, and Bert took great care of us.

There was old blood on the walls and table, and the room was dirty and dingy. The whole hotel smelled really bad. Management has let it go downhill over the past 3 years. I won't stay here again.
