The Sonata Inn

From the little conveniences to the breakfast spread, this place is hard to beat. They had umbrellas for rainy weather, beach towels for sunny days, tea and coffee available all day, a lovely sunroom, and laundry facilities on site. Breakfast was described as continental, but it was a full meal: scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, fresh fruit, and yogurt, plus the usual continental choices. There were also delicious baked goods made by the innkeeper's wife, including chocolatines, apple turnovers, macha puffs filled with raspberry cream, and croissants. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the owner was friendly and helpful. It's close to Victoria Park and Beaconsfield Historic House, with Centre of the Arts, St. Dunstan Basilica, Victoria Row, and many restaurants a short walk away. Driving anywhere on the Island from here is pleasant too. I highly recommend this unsurpassed place to stay.

The bed was very comfortable, towels were thick, and there was plenty of hot water. Even with the B&B fully booked, our room stayed quiet. The staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. You're just a few blocks from the boardwalk and downtown, with lots of excellent restaurants to choose from. It's a very nice B&B, and we'd definitely stay again.

This older-style place is quaint and well maintained, with very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The pillows weren't comfortable, though. Breakfast is excellent and free, and the staff are very friendly. There's no elevator, but the gentleman at the front desk carried our luggage from the car to our rooms, which we really appreciated. We'd stay here again.

The inn is in a peaceful neighbourhood, with downtown about a five-minute walk away and the harbour around ten minutes away. Victoria Park’s boardwalk is just a few steps from the door. Our room suited us perfectly, and breakfast was great, especially the welcome cookies and banana bread in the morning. The host was so calm and kind. We had a lovely stay and have already recommended it to family. It was just right for our last night on PEI.
