The room itself was clean and comfortable for our stay, with a fridge, coffee machine, and AC unit. The bathroom had no visible stains. It didn’t smell especially fresh, but the bed was hard in a way I liked, and my view of a tree was peaceful. Breakfast was just steps away, and the complimentary soap smelled nice and didn’t leave a film on my skin. There’s a pool, though I didn’t use it. The staff were friendly and got us checked in and out quickly. At first glance, everything looked clean except the floors. The carpet needs replacing because its stains detract from the clean windows and walls. There was another large spill stain on the second floor, which I walked up to since there’s no elevator. Otherwise, things seemed reasonably clean.

The mountain view from the nice room was good, and the price was reasonable. It has the amenities I needed, including coin laundry, a microwave, and a mini fridge, though there’s no breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly. My main complaint was inconsistent housekeeping. The hotel was clean, but towels weren’t always replaced and beds weren’t always made. Some other guests also gave the place an odd atmosphere, with people lingering in the parking lot.

After a hectic day in Vancouver, this was a great place for our family to stay. The rates were reasonable, and the owner/manager was friendly and told us a little about the hotel and area. We appreciated being able to bring our family dog since the hotel is pet friendly. The rooms were clean and had what we needed. My only complaint was the noise from the ice machine and a few other guests.

The state of the room made me feel uneasy. The carpet had rocks, food, and other debris in it, there were no Kleenex’s, and black mold was growing around the ceiling air exchange vent. The smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling by its wires. Two times, the room phone rang once and stopped, once almost at midnight and again at 2am. The hallway was really loud. Footsteps echoed because there seemed to be little insulation under the newly installed laminate, and some very loud people were walking around and shouting. They appeared to be long-term residents. Tents were set up in the parking lot, where many of them hung around. As a woman travelling alone and arriving late at night, I felt very unsafe. I had booked based on online photos showing a clean, recently renovated, reasonably priced hotel, but almost too many things were wrong to count. Fruit flies were buzzing in the room, and the general lack of cleanliness gave me the heebie-newbies. I also had to pay a $20 pet deposit, more than most hotels charge. It was supposedly for cleaning up any mess my dog might leave, but my dog actually left the place cleaner by eating who-knows-what off the floor. After staying there, I don’t think the price was reasonable for the quality. Travelodge would be better off charging by the hour, or even by the minute, for this kind of establishment.

It’s fine for a night or two, and the location is good. I liked that they supply life jackets, though the pool could use an update. The beds were rock hard, and my kids and I tossed and turned all night. The room was serviced while we were out, but they only cleaned the bathroom and didn’t leave fresh towels. There are definitely things that need improving, but it’s okay for a short stay.
