Wolfwood Guest Ranch

The private lake was such a nice place to cool off, and we could use the kayaks and canoes there. Our cabin was clean and comfortable, with a big fan that came in handy on that very hot day. The owners were kind, and the home-cooked meals were wonderful. Order dinner ahead if you can, and don’t miss the delicious breakfast pancakes. We only wish we’d stayed longer at Wolfwood. We’d happily recommend it and hope to return.

We joined the Wild Edibles Nature Walk around the property, which was informative and a great way to learn about the local plants and their nutritional and medicinal uses. Our cabin was rustic but clean, and the meals were well prepared and brought right to the door. They even had a birthday cake waiting in our room for my wife's birthday. Wolfwood Guest Ranch is centrally located for Wells Grey Park, with its own lake and a well-kept property. I highly recommend staying here.

We were there in 2022, so some details may have changed since then. The place is wonderfully quiet in the forest, with a lovely lake for kayaking. Snakes are very rare and not venomous, but still something to keep in mind. They had two friendly dogs that wouldn’t bite, and the people working there were the best. A really nice guy served us, brought pancakes to the cabin and gave us meals like chicken, plus a wolf tooth. He also took us into the woods and showed us how to make a snare for survival and ropes from different materials. Some of those rope skills actually came in handy later. This is the best place I’ve ever stayed, with the nicest people!

The photos don’t do this hidden gem justice. Our cabin had a rustic feel while still being lovely, clean, and well looked after. The highlight for our 2.5 year old was the morning farm tour. She was so excited to meet the chickens, roosters, ducks, dogs, goats, rabbits, and cows.
