Living Stone Golf Resort

The day staff were pleasant, the location was good, prices fair, and the rooms comfortable. There are farm eggs for sale in a fridge, which is nice and fairly priced. It was busier than Blue Mountain Village Suites in the off season, ironically, probably because of the indoor pool. Families are around, so expect kids yelling and running through the halls, though nighttime was quiet. The night staff need to learn how to answer ordinary questions without arguing. I asked why there was an extra $15 charge that hadn’t been mentioned in the reservation and got a rude, condescending response instead of a simple answer. Then, after hauling all my stuff upstairs, my room key didn’t work, so I had to carry everything back down for a replacement. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

The spa bathrooms and pool changing rooms could be kept cleaner and more consistently cared for. It’s a small thing, but it affects comfort. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay at Living Stone Golf Resort, in a calm, scenic setting that made me think I could live in Collingwood. Every interaction with the staff felt welcoming and attentive, and the presentation we attended was clear, engaging, and easy to follow. We ate at the on-site restaurant more than once. The food was consistently good, the atmosphere inviting, and the service made us want to return. The pools, outdoor hot tub, fitness center, and spa gave us a nice mix of ways to relax and stay active. I’d come back, and look forward to seeing how things continue to improve. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom was nice, too, with shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Check-in and checkout were both super easy, and the staff were friendly. I just wish the TV had Netflix. I had to watch some shows on my phone. The next morning our car wouldn’t start, but the staff got the maintenance person, who brought a booster pack and helped us get going to the hill. It was a terrific stay.

The room was clean and big, with a separate bedroom, two TVs, a nice kitchen, small fridge, microwave, and roll-in shower. The spa is a $6 cab ride away. In January, it was cold having to walk outside and around to the other side to get to the pool and hot tub area. Restaurant coming soon.
