Nites Inn Motel

We usually have good experiences booking motels, but this one was really disappointing. The desk person was lovely on the first phone call, and the rate was reasonable at $95, so we backtracked 30 minutes to stay there. I explained that we had two cats, both on the phone and again when we arrived. I think there may have been a language issue with the front desk person, but I was shocked when he charged us $195. The room wasn’t clean, and there were spiders under the bed that scared my child. The person next door snored so loudly that I only got about two hours of sleep. In the morning, the front desk person said we had to pay another $40 because of the cats, even though I’d explained it several times. That brought the total to $240. A very sad experience, and I’m not sure what else to say.

A good value for an overnight stop. The room was clean and well appointed, but it got a bit uncomfortable at night because it was too warm. We couldn’t find a thermostat control. That’s the only reason I didn’t rate it higher.

We checked in at 1:00 AM after getting exhausted driving through Ontario. The location was convenient and easy to reach, and the room was a good size. It was very clean, the bathroom was spotless, and the bed was more comfortable than beds at many four and five star hotels we’ve stayed in. The walls are thin, as you’d expect for the price. My only complaint was that the curtains blocked the AC however we tried to arrange them, so the room stayed a little warm. Still, we were happy with the stay and will come back when we pass through.

We’ve stayed at this motel twice, and the location worked perfectly for us, just minutes from downtown and with easy access to the 401. The owners were professional and accommodating both times. The room was as advertised: simple, clean, and equipped with the essentials, including a fridge, large TV, microwave, and free Wi-Fi. Best deal in Cornwall for the price.
