Motel des Érables

The hosts were super friendly and bilingual, and communication and service were great. The rooms have dated decor, but that gives the place a bit of a retro, very motel feel. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable and good quality. Being close to the highway makes it handy for travelers. I was unsure at first because of the decor and the pool not working, but the reviews persuaded me to try it. I'd come back, though I do hope they get the pool fixed since it would have made my stay much better.

The building feels like it's falling apart, it's extremely dirty, and the Wi-Fi barely works. The pool was green with algae, smelled awful, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. We were accused of breaking the door, even though it was already broken when we arrived. Customer service was absolutely terrible. At 9:30 am on our first day, the hostess knocked on our door while we were exhausted from the day before and still adjusting to the three-hour time difference. The worst place I've ever stayed. I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay at this garbage motel.

There was pubic hair all over the bathroom, and she was trying to get us to clean the room. She kept knocking at 9 pm, then again at 8 am, so I couldn't even sleep. We were accused of breaking a door, which we did not do, and kicked out for having too much luggage, however that works. She kicked us out in the middle of the night. Being from BC, finding another hotel was pretty inconvenient. This place blows. The pool picture should say enough. Absolutely appalled!

We stayed in the family room, and it had everything we needed: two beds, a sofa, table and chairs, TV, fridge, microwave, and a full bathroom. The fridge was a little noisy, but it wasn't a big deal. The rooms were clean, and the customer service was excellent at this family-run motel. It's conveniently located right off the highway. We'll definitely stay there again next time we need a place in the area.
