You do have to sleep through the occasional rumbling train, though the AC or heater does a good job of drowning it out. The hotel restaurant was great, with a lively bar in the evenings, and breakfast there was way better than a continental breakfast. The poached eggs were yummy. Everything was really good.

At $240 a night, I expected more from a place promising a resort stay. Check-in took 35 minutes in line, and our room had a funky wet-dog smell. The decor looked more like something from 1978 than a hotel built in 1998, with little sign of updates over the past 27 years. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and this was underwhelming. It was okay at best, and I left wishing I’d booked a Holiday Inn Express or somewhere similar. To me, it felt like a 2.5-star hotel presented as a 4-star resort.

I stopped by to renew my gym membership and Ayushi helped me. She was so friendly and helpful, with excellent customer service. The hotel is lucky to have her, and she deserves a raise.

I’ve stayed here every month for the past three months, usually for one or two weeks at a time, and I’m a Diamond Select member because I travel a lot for work. The gym is a major reason I book here, and I’ve used it four or five days a week on each stay. Today I was turned away from the area I use for weights, stretching, and cardio, even though there’s no other space for core and stretching work. A personal trainer was using it for a squat set with four clients rotating through. I pointed out that no one was using it at that moment, and when I asked about the machine where her client was, she said they weren’t using it then, but argued with me anyway. You can’t just claim an area when it isn’t in use. I ended up leaving, feeling disrespected and pushed out of a hotel amenity by someone who wasn’t a guest. This was upsetting, and I won’t stay here again. Also, none of the machines or equipment had been wiped after the clients. I hate having to write this, but guests need to know that personal trainers often work out of the hotel, sometimes with four clients rotating at once. The gym is important to paying guests, who are a main source of income for the hotel.
