Service Plus Encore

I had two rooms booked: one for two nights and another for family joining us on the second night. After what happened, we left early and didn't use the second room at all. My family also chose the late-night, 3.5-hour drive home rather than stay. The room we checked into had a filthy floor. Our socks became grimy almost immediately, so we wore shoes the rest of the time. We could have put up with that for a couple of nights, but the next morning brought a much worse problem. I hadn't packed toothbrushes for my two kids, so my husband asked the front desk for a couple while taking them to breakfast. He came back with two unwrapped, mismatched brushes. In the rush to get ready for a wedding that three of us were in, I didn't look closely at first. Then my husband noticed they looked used, and one handle had “Toilet” written on it in black marker. We were horrified. Why were these with the front desk supplies? What might they have touched or contaminated? Were other guests being given brushes from the same place? We threw them away right away and scrubbed our hands and every surface they might have touched. We were short on time before the wedding, so I didn't go to the front desk immediately and thought I'd raise it later. Once the wedding was over, we were exhausted and I couldn't face another night there. We packed the vehicle and drove home to our own clean beds, floors, and toiletries. We used only the first night of the two-night room and didn't stay in the other room booked for one night. I know I should have spoken to the front desk straight away, but I was overwhelmed by the day's responsibilities and schedule. I did contact the hotel about my concerns. They initially replied to my email, questioned my recollection, then said a manager would call. It's been nine days without a call, despite three follow-up emails. I gave them a fair chance to get back to me before posting, and I honestly don't think they understand how disgusting this was.

I was here for work for a day. The rooms were nice and clean, the beds were really comfortable, and the employees were friendly and helpful. I'll be back.

We booked online at the last minute after visiting the local brewery (Nodding Donkey), and had an amazing stay, especially for the price. The romantic suite was fantastic, with a Jacuzzi tub, complimentary champagne and chocolates, and everything was comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and temperature, and the hotel was really quiet. We had such a nice stay and highly recommend it.

Everything was in good shape, and the place was nice and clean. I loved having coffee in the room, especially with real mugs and an up-to-date coffee maker. Thanks!
