The room was very spacious and laid out thoughtfully. I liked the screen that separates the areas, and the large TV was easy to connect to my phone. The kitchenette was generous too, with a microwave mounted high to free up counter space. A coffee table by the sofa would have made it more convenient. The breakfast at the “Inspired Table” had plenty of options, including waffles, omelettes and sausages. I really didn’t like the pancakes, they reminded me why I’m not a fan of IHOP, though it was nice that guests could make them fresh themselves. There were some real drawbacks. Both the pool and gym were being refurbished, so I couldn’t use them. They offered access to the DoubleTree’s facilities, a 2-minute walk away, but that didn’t work for me. At -20 degrees, I didn’t want to go outside at all, especially to swim or work out. I also heard a lot from neighboring rooms. The walls seem thin, and I suspect sound comes through because the doors between rooms aren’t well sealed, along with hallway noise. When I arrived, pizza shop flyers had been slipped under my door, so the hotel should make sure unauthorized people can’t distribute things inside the building. It’s a modern, roomy place, but the lack of on-site facilities was disappointing.

The staff are absolutely lovely, and there’s a handy tea and coffee station by check-in that’s open 24/7. My room was spacious, had a kitchenette, and the shower was nicely updated. The hotel is close to downtown and the west end, and I liked the gym too. Highly recommend.

We loved how clean and roomy the room was, and the bed was comfortable. It seems set up for longer stays, with a kitchenette, dishes, cutlery and even a dishwasher. Breakfast was okay, with a pretty broad selection. The lobby has recently been under renovation, so it was a bit messy and unwelcoming.

I still haven’t received the receipt they said they’d email, though they managed to send me 3 survey emails. I checked junk and trash too. I’ve made 4 phone calls and left 2 messages, and just hung up after being on hold for 10+ minutes with a call centre person I could barely hear over the background noise. They didn’t even take my details before putting me on hold. I can’t get anyone at the actual hotel to answer the phone either. How busy can you be on a Tuesday afternoon? I was also charged an extra $25 at check-in, and maybe the missing receipt would explain why. The Wi-Fi isn’t free either. You have to download their app and give personal details.
