Whitemud Inn Edmonton South

The room was smelly and dirty, and the service was poor. We had booked a non-smoking room, but were given one with a strong smoke smell and a burn mark on the blanket. There was no air conditioning, and the ventilation was very noisy when heating. It was a really bad stay, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The staff member was super, though I can't remember his name. There was no breakfast or water, despite breakfast being listed as included. The room and bathroom were poor, the bedside lamp didn't work, and the internet was very slow. There was no elevator, and the stairs were dark as hell. The pictures on the map looked amazing, but the actual place was something else. I booked three nights, stayed only one, then moved to Ramada, where I enjoyed my stay. Don't book this hotel.

The room was okay, and it was handy having street access and being close to the main road. But the bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned after use: there were empty wrappers, used complimentary shampoo bottles, and a dirt ring in the tub. The price is what you pay for what you get.

A great, friendly, helpful man at the front desk made a good impression, and the clean, spacious room was good value. The carpet could use replacing, though. From the street the outside looks horrendous and needs cleaning and new paint. I'd come back.
