Rosemead House

We live in Victoria and chose the renovated Rosemead House for a birthday celebration. The staff were warm and wonderful throughout, and we enjoyed breakfast from the lovely buffet as well as pizza in the lounge and dinner in the formal dining room. We also had fun wandering the hotel and grounds to admire the antiques, decor, and sculptures. Every room is different, and we’re looking forward to returning to explore more of them. We stayed in room 402, which was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had lovely mountain and ocean views. The smart toilet took a little getting used to, but otherwise the room balanced modern conveniences with the grandeur of an earlier age. It’s especially well suited to cyclists, with a fabulous bike valet and easy access to the E&N cycling trail. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The breakfasts included with our stay were a highlight each morning. Freshly squeezed orange juice, buttery French pastries, fresh fruit, and sourdough pancakes and French toast, some of the best we’ve had. Rosemead House sits in a peaceful, forest-like pocket of Esquimalt, just minutes from downtown Victoria. The 1906 Tudor Revival manor feels like a storybook, while the restoration keeps it fresh. We loved the old-world details, including paintings and mirrors in antique frames, alongside modern comforts like high-tech Kohler smart toilets. There are more than 1,500 antiques, especially lovely in the Crown Mezzanine library, and each guest room has its own design. A rare gem, and an unforgettable stay. We’ll be back soon!

We’ve been locals for six years and had an incredible staycation at the Rosemead. The hotel and restaurant staff were kind from the moment we arrived. Dining was phenomenal, with the best desserts we’ve had in both Victoria and Vancouver. The building and grounds show so much care, and every room has its own charm. We loved walking around and taking in the atmosphere. There was a little construction at nearby apartment complexes, but our whole stay was quiet and undisturbed. We’re excited to return, especially once the finishing touches to the grounds are done.

The room was cozy and comfortable, and the staff were kind and attentive. We had a wonderful stay at Rosemead House. The food was incredible, and the hotel has a vibe all its own. You can see the care in every detail, from the art and statues inside and out to the music in the main areas and the bathroom soaps. I can’t wait to come back.
