Estevan Motel

Avoid this place. The office was cluttered, dirty, and stinky, and the room was filthy with the smell of an old basement that had never been aired out. The carpet looked original to 1950, the bedding was ancient and unwashed, and the furniture seemed like it came from the garbage. The bathroom was unclean, the tub was clogged, and the water was lukewarm. Go only if you’ve had all your immunizations, have an extra-strong immune system, and are ready for Survivor.

You get what you pay for: cheap, grungy, and chilly. The place is hidden and hard to find. It’s old and stained, the fridge didn’t work, and they didn’t clean the room while we were out during the day.

My husband and I stayed at the Estevan Motel, and it was filthy. When we pulled back the blankets, there was blood and hair on the sheets. I asked the cleaning girl to change them, but she said it wasn’t sheet-changing day. I told her it was. We got bitten by bedbugs from head to toe. They said they’d clean the room, but when we returned to the same room seven days later, we were bitten again. The owner didn’t seem to care much. We went to the health inspector, who already knew about the place and had dealt with this motel’s bedbug problem before. Never stay here unless you want little friends, bedbugs.

Good value, and the room was clean and tidy. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Estevan again.
