The place stinks like animals, and there are questionable bleach stains everywhere. The bed was basically broken, and the duvet felt crunchy and gross. People slammed doors all night, and some 💩 went down outside several times. I stayed two of the three nights, then had to find another hotel for the last one. But what can you expect for $60 a night?

The room and the whole place smelled so awful I had to put tissue in my nostrils to sleep and light a candle to cover the odor. The hot water tap didn’t work, so I couldn’t wash my face or even my hands. There was mold in the shower, grime on the walls, a leaking toilet that I had to stop by lifting the tank, a broken light, and filthy carpets. The stairs hadn’t even been shovelled, and there were hardly any towels. This place should be shut down. It won’t let me upload videos.

For what it costs, this place isn’t worth it anymore. I’ve stayed a few times over the past couple of years, and the service has gone downhill. The lobby reeked of urine when we walked in last weekend. They charged another $10 for a second person in a two-bed room, which seemed odd, and they’d lost our reservation. The notes were poorly handwritten across several ledgers, so that wasn’t much of a surprise. There were easily washable stains on the room walls, and the soap dispensers didn’t work. I know it’s an extremely cheap hotel, but if you’re wondering about the high rating, look at the pattern of who leaves those ratings. I assume they’re bots.

My Spouce and I stayed here while he was working at the boundary dam shut down, and honestly, I wish we hadn’t. It’s a run-down dump with no service and terrible wifi. At least willy's pub was across the alley, with excellent service and VLTS.

I flew over 4000 kms to visit the place where I was born. I’m a Veteran, and I’d wanted to stay near the tower restaurant because I used to go there with my high school friends and, in -30 degree weather, didn’t want to walk far to get food. The Tower Restaurant had great food. The hotel showed no compassion or care. When I couldn’t pay the full amount up front, they immediately asked for the keys back and told me to leave. I was due to be paid by veterans affairs in 5 days. I’m not homeless, and I hadn’t planned to spend most of my visit in hotels. I just needed some understanding, and they had none. I don’t recommend this place. I took a cab to another hotel by the mall, stayed there for 5 days without a problem, then spent another 4 days at the Beefeater. Both accepted payment when I left, charged me nothing on entry, and neither asked me to leave. I paid up to $1000 total for the two stays. The Beefeater is a better hotel. These people are unkind. Apologies, please, and thank you. Have a nice day. 😊
