Pioneer Inn

We booked because of the location and were glad they could fit us in at the last minute. Service was fine, and the bedding was great. The room was very bare, and the fridge wasn’t cooling until we adjusted it. It took us a while to work out the heating and cooling controls. The bathroom was clean and had nice shampoo and conditioner, but could use some work, including around the door frames, and there was some mold. The fridge also needed a deep clean, as did the room. A box of Kleenex would’ve been nice. I didn’t spend enough time in the lobby to comment on it.

The main problem was the noise from our fridge. It clicked on about every half hour and vibrated the bed, and the neighbor’s AC did too. Traffic from the highway didn’t bother us, but we still didn’t sleep well. Check-in was simple, and the location was handy with amenities close by. The room was cleaner than we expected, and the bed was comfortable. Still, it wasn’t a terrible stay.

We brought our two dogs, and there was no extra charge. The rooms were basic and clean, just what we needed. We’ll come back.

The fridge cycling on and off woke me several times overnight, and at 5 a.m. loud conversations at reception carried into my room for quite a while. I couldn’t get proper rest. Check-in was smooth and the room was clean, but hotels should respect quiet hours, especially so early. The noise showed little consideration for guests, and I found that unacceptable.
