There was a kitchen for anyone wanting to cook, and the bathroom in our unit had been renovated. The motel was okay, though the rooms are old and maybe there are better ones. We were given a second-floor room with tiny windows facing a busy road. With the windows closed, you could probably sleep, but open them for some fresh air and forget sleeping. If you get 217-219, I'd strongly recommend asking for another room or a refund.

The room itself was really good. I liked that the bathroom had a hairdryer and those nonslip plastic mats for the bathtub. But when I called to confirm my reservation, one of the front desk staff didn't speak English, and communicating with him was difficult. That's not the kind of service you're looking for.

With eateries within walking distance in every direction, plus an Esso and a grocery store nearby, it was easy to find what we needed. We took a bus to Parliament and were pleasantly surprised that three buses stopped right in front of the buildings. It was only nine stops to get there. The grounds were clean and quaintly decorated, and the cleaning staff were impeccable. Everyone on staff was incredibly hospitable and pleasant. We got lucky finding this hidden gem after our vehicle broke down on the way home from a family reunion. The price was fantastic, $115 a night for four people, especially so close to downtown Ottawa. We'll stay here on our next trip instead of in Ottawa.

The room was pretty roomy, and the bathroom looked very clean. It's close to the city centre by car. The only downsides were a smoke smell and how warm the room was. I couldn't figure out how to turn the heater down.

The road noise was pretty heavy, and the bed could've been softer. Still, it was a nice stay, with clean rooms, a convenient location, and very friendly staff.
