Quality Inn & Suites Gatineau

The location worked perfectly for a hockey tournament, with lots of restaurants around. But the room was extremely cold, even though it was only -10 outside. The floor and walls were freezing, there was no soundproofing so we could hear everything, and the beds were worn out and squeaky. I didn’t have breakfast there, but other people said it wasn’t good. I wouldn’t come back.

The room stayed cold all night, even with the thermostat turned way up, and the beds were very uncomfortable. We were on the first floor. Others had said breakfast was included, but we were charged for it despite having coupons. The food was awful and took ages to arrive. It came out cold, and they didn’t even have basic choices like apple or orange juice. Also, Quality Inn ( owner ) only seems to like or comment on five-star reviews and doesn’t acknowledge bad ones.

The people were really nice, the Wi-Fi was solid, and the bed was good. The location is convenient, and the room has a fridge, iron, and TV. Rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but very clean, so don’t expect anything fancy from this sort of motel. The soap is cheap. Breakfast is included and there was something to choose from, but it’s pretty basic and a bit sad. No vegetables or cheese, just toast bread and eggs from a mix, that sort of thing. Still, you can get by. Sleep and noise depend a lot on your neighbors, and it can get a little noisy at times.

The room was okay, but the shower only had cold water. I could hear people talking in other rooms because the place isn’t very soundproof. It feels more like a motel than a hotel, and the front desk and customer service were the worst I’ve ever experienced.
