My husband and I joined one of their wellness retreats to try ancient techniques for rejuvenating body and mind. It was an awesome experience! We could relax in the steaming outdoor jacuzzi and look out over the sweeping Canadian Rocky Mountains, with winter wind brushing gently across our skin. The hot springs softened the body, the mountain air cleared the mind, and a quiet inner flame rose. The chalet is beautiful and luxurious, great for families to chill out, with awesome mountain views for reflection and meditation.

The property is beautiful, with lovely views, and the units are spaced apart enough to feel private. We liked having hiking trails right off the grounds, and the patio and hot tub were a treat. Our cedar chalet cabin was spacious, well equipped, and the full kitchen suited the relaxing stay-in vacation we wanted. I'd replace the living room couch, which is very lumpy, worn, and uncomfortable. The carpet and shower also show some wear and need attention soon. We'd stay again :) One tip from experience: if you're doing the waterfall hike, the marker for turning down to the creek and falls looks like purple dog poop bags and is really unclear. Don't try to summit the whole mountain.

We'd been here 5 years ago and came back without hesitation. This time we tried both the Cedar Chalet and Adventure chalet. The Cedar was spacious and laid out well for up to 4 people, with a roomy kitchen and living area, then glass doors into the bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable bed and on to a full-sized bathroom. The big deck, bbq, and hot tub are great any time of day. Adventure has a cute country cabin feel, with a loft bedroom. You enter by the kitchen and wood fireplace, then go down the hall past the bathroom and small dining table, which has a fantastic mountain view. There's a bench seat, or you can turn into a cozy living room under the loft. Climb the ladder to the bedroom and little closet. The wood stove or electric heater makes it nice and toasty. The large deck has a beautiful view from the hot tub too. These are well maintained, lovely chalets, perfect for a weekend or even a full week away from home and work.

It's been about 5 years since our last visit, and although ownership has changed, everything is just as it was. We've stayed in the Garden Chalet 3 times, the Mountain View 2 times, and now the Dragonfly. The units are very clean and well stocked, and the hot tubs are checked and maintained daily. We did have trouble with a party group in the large Green Lodge staying loud late into the night, but one call to the front office got it addressed right away. We first came to Cedar Chalets about 11 years ago and had a fantastic time. We'll be back soon.

I never stayed at the hotel or used any of its services, but my accidental booking cost me several hundred dollars. I only realized the mistake afterwards. When I didn't arrive on the first day, nobody contacted me, not even to check if I was okay. Later I explained what happened and politely asked if anything could be done, but got no reply at all. It's really disappointing. For a place in hospitality, there was no hospitality shown. They took the money quickly, but apparently couldn't spare the effort to respond to a customer.
