The beach was the best part for us, with lovely walks in the morning and again at night. It felt almost like having it to ourselves, and the inn is tucked away by the water, peaceful and remote. We stayed in September during a 10-day road trip through the Maritimes. Barbara made us feel welcome right away, and her inn is gorgeous. Our ground-floor room was in the right corner, decorated with the kind of impeccable taste I picture in a Hamptons home. We went out to eat the first night, which turned out to be a mistake: nearby places were still a 20-30 minute drive, and Barbara’s cooking the next day was so much better. The other guests were warm and friendly while still giving everyone room to enjoy the quiet. I can see why people come back every year. I’d love to return too.

Barbara, Thomas, and the staff were so welcoming and attentive that it felt like visiting friends. The meals were a highlight, fresh and creative, with local ingredients and lovely presentation. You can tell they put real care into both the food and the hospitality. Our room was spotless, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The inn is surrounded by trees in their autumn colors, and the beach is just steps away. It was a wonderful place to relax, and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Barbara and Thomas!

We could happily have stayed longer. The area is so quiet and serene, and we loved walking down to the beach. Inside, the inn manages to feel spacious and cozy, with a dining area, a living room with games, and a library with a fireplace. Barbara and Thomas were incredibly kind. We’d recommend dinner there, too: Barbara makes soulful, healthy meals with local ingredients. When we arrived, we were greeted right away and shown to a spectacular suite. It had linen bedding, a huge bathroom with two sinks, several places to sit, a TV, coffee and tea, and a large ocean-view patio with room for seven. We had such a relaxing stay, and it exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return for longer.

Those 45 steps down to the private beach were a lovely part of the stay. We could walk peacefully, put our feet in the water, and listen to the waves. The views were incredible. We also enjoyed the European-style breakfast with the other guests, served with plenty of care. Barbara and Thomas made us feel at home with their warmth and kindness. Chef Barbara’s two dinners were memorable, and Thomas’s suggested wine pairings made them even better. The Executive Room was beautifully decorated, with homemade pralines, Nespresso coffee, David’s Tea, a very comfortable bed and cozy duvet. We especially enjoyed the ocean view from its private patio, and the separate entrance was a nice bonus. This was our third trip to Prince Edward Island, and we were lucky to find the inn available for the final two nights of our holiday. The Hampton Style house looked like something from a House and Home magazine. We left feeling refreshed and already hoping to come back.

The suite was lovely, simple and soothing, with elegant colors. We chose one of the suites for a little extra room, and the thoughtful attention to detail was clear throughout. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was wonderful. Barbara and Thomas have made a beautiful oasis, and I’m so glad we found it. I’d happily recommend 45 Steps and wish them both continued success.
