We were a family of four in #241 at the Lord Aberdeen in March 2022. The location was a big plus with young kids: in winter you can step off the back deck straight into the village, and it's easy to reach restaurants and the slopes. It really is ski-in, ski-out. The room is technically on the second floor. Just be aware that from inside, the snow bank around the hot tub blocks most of the village and mountain view. In summer, that hot tub deck would also be quite exposed to people passing through the village. In winter, the snow bank gave us plenty of privacy. It's a condo building with individually owned units rented through Silver Star's central reservation service, so units vary. #241 is the only one with a private hot tub on its deck. The suite was modern, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a full kitchen stocked with just about everything, a gas fireplace, living room TV, good free Wi-Fi, ski lockers down the hall, and free outdoor parking. There was a queen bed in the bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living room. The beds were the main drawback. The queen mattress wasn't great, and the pull-out mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. It might be fine for kids, but I wouldn't recommend it for adults. We could also faintly hear music from Long Johns Pub directly below. It's more restaurant than late-night spot, and the sound hardly disturbed us, but a light sleeper who turns in early might notice it.

I've rented several units in different Silver Star buildings for skiing and summer events, and the staff and workers here do a very good job. I'd rent here again, just not #242 at Lord Aberdeen unless the problems are fixed. I'm here in summer now, and although the unit has a nice layout and good storage, the kitchen gear is shockingly poor. My camping equipment is better. There's one supposedly large knife, dull and probably from the 1970s. The can opener was so bad I asked concierge staff for another, and they kindly brought one even though these owner-stocked units aren't theirs to maintain. The frying pans have scratched-off Teflon, which is unhealthy if it gets into your food. The coffee maker works, but the kitchen items are old and low quality, and there aren't enough utensils, including knives. The RCA TV looks to be about 20 inches and very old. The smoke detector is past its seven-year lifespan, the microwave seems to date from 1992, and the hot tub is drained and out of service. For under $400, they could replace the knife block, microwave, utensils, and pans, then splurge on an updated TV. Right now I give this unit two stars because of the kitchen, TV, and unusable hot tub.

The location right in the village was nice, and the space itself was pleasant with a working hot tub. Getting in was a bit of a maze, and it was somewhat noisy, as mentioned. The bed in our room in the 200s was really uncomfortable, though, and for what we paid it wasn't worth it.

We'd definitely come back to the Aberdeen. It was our first time at Silverstar, and we found the room clean and central, with a good price.

Clean, good rooms, though the decor feels pretty dated. There's no AC in summer, but fans are provided.
