I was really looking forward to a much-needed break with my husband on the 28th of Oct 2015, after booking this place based on its online reviews. Then at 11 pm on the 27th, we received very personal, shocking news. I feel it's unethical to share the details publicly. I canceled our accommodation and called at 8 am to explain the sudden reason. It was hard to speak because I was so emotional. I asked for a partial refund since what happened was completely beyond our control. The woman at the accommodation said we should have canceled in advance. I can't understand how someone could be so callous about a personal emergency. Those can happen at the last minute and rarely come with seven days' notice. They refused the refund and charged us twice, $116.80 and $1.17. I'm not writing to recover the money. I just want others to know they should give seven days' notice, emergency or not, so the accommodation can be rented out again. They seem to badly need people's hard-earned money.

The owner was very kind and the bed was comfortable. We got a warm welcome in this bucolic spot, right across from the majestic St-Maurice.

The homemade breakfast was fantastic, a real treat, and the owner was incredibly kind. We loved our stay. The room was beautiful, and the toy chest was a nice touch for the children. Adding a bed for our daughters when we arrived was no problem at all. It was a magical escape for us, and I highly recommend this place.

We had a fantastic breakfast, and the owner was so friendly. The house itself is spectacular, with stylish decor, and its location facing a lake makes it feel especially special.
