Susan’s breakfast is really, really good, and the grounds and amenities have that proper cottage feel. Rooms are scarce, though. The best part for me was the outdoor shower. I used it every morning, and there was plenty of hot water. Jeff cleverly made it private and cozy, so no need to worry about that. The house is beautiful, and Susan, Jeff, and Tuck are super kind and cool. You’re a short walk from the lively part of downtown, and the home is right by the little path to Gull Lake Rotary Park, where the newly christened Tall Pines Art and Music fest is held. There’s usually live music from the new barge in season, and you can swim or enjoy the park just a minute’s walk from 490 Muskoka. Strong recommendation for an A+ Bed and Breakfast experience.

I had such a wonderful weekend at this place. The indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful, and Susan is the most gracious hostess. It has a family-friendly feel, and the breakfasts were divine. I highly recommend the cinnamon French toast. My lavish King room had a TV, AC, and luxurious bathroom, and everything was excellent. Gull Lake Park is just a 5-minute walk away, which was perfect for the Tall Pines Music Festival I attended 🎶🤘🏽🎵 Yeah!!! Thanks so much for your hospitality 😍😃.

The backyard was such a welcoming little oasis, with its pond, hot tub, fire pit, and playful details among all the lovely, thoughtful plantings. We wish we’d had more days to enjoy it. We stayed in the 'Garden Room' inside the main house, and the beautiful king bed was amazingly comfortable. I slept like a baby. Susan was a wonderful host, always ready with useful dining or sightseeing suggestions. Breakfast had several choices, tasted delicious, and was presented beautifully, definitely 5 Star. We also appreciated the little touches, like fresh water with lemon slices in a glass decanter in the mini fridge and the pretty glassware. My husband and I had a lovely weekend at Four Ninety. Thanks for a great stay, Susan!

We got stranded in town for a couple of days during a snow squall, and were lucky to stay here. Susan is one of the kindest, most caring people we’ve ever met, and the stay was fantastic. Her little dog Tuck was adorable, and we grew very fond of him. If you’re in the area looking for a place, I can’t recommend Susan enough. Four Ninety should be your definitive choice!

The cabin gave us our own space and privacy, and the room was charming, clean, and had everything we needed. The bed was superior, and between the windows and large wall fan, we slept better than we ever have away from home. Susan and Jeff were attentive and available without hovering. The property was pristine and ideally located, and Susan’s breakfasts were generous and clearly made with love. I can’t say enough about the private outdoor shower, it was amazing. And we have to mention our new furry friend, Tuck. Such a great dog! We really enjoyed our four nights. Thanks for everything, Susan, Jeff, and Tuck. We’ll be back!
