The bartender was a great character, but the food was awful. I eat out a lot, and this meal was bad enough to push me into writing a review so other people might avoid the same misery. I’d rather chew my running shoe after stepping in dog dung. At least the flavor and texture would be better.

I wish there were seats at the bar and draft beer. The food was so good, especially the burger, wings, and tempura shrimp.

Off-sale prices were good, and there was plenty of seating. The appetizers were great, especially the buffalo ranch rib bites. It’s a remote location, but there were around 10 VLTs and a pool table that seemed to be free, since we didn’t have to pay. Three and a half stars.

The room itself seemed ready, but the rest of the hotel was in rough shape. I saw three or four rooms that looked ready to use, while many others had mattresses and construction equipment piled inside. A switched-off fridge smelled strongly. When I plugged in my laptop adapter, the outlet shot orange sparks and made a loud noise, so I decided to leave. On my way to the car, I heard a baby screaming. If any kind of authority inspected this place, I think it would quickly be condemned. I got there at 2:15 PM, but the hotel entrance was locked. The nearby tavern with the same name was locked too, with a sign saying it opened at 3:30. I went to a nearby Chinese Canadian restaurant, then waited in my car until 3:30 before walking back. The open sign was lit, so I went in. It was dark, and a middle-aged East Asian man behind the bar turned on the lights, which only made the room dim. He seemed confused by my arrival, but eventually understood I had a reservation. He appeared nervous and first showed me a room behind the building, attached to the kitchen, which I took to be his suggestion instead of the hotel. He then led me through the hotel and let me choose among the three or four rooms that looked ready. I went back to the pattern and paid, then toured the hotel.

A nice little small-town bar and restaurant, with good food and a good atmosphere.
