Wedgewood Motel

A nice market is right next door, and the price was great. It’s dog friendly, with what you need to make a meal and spend the night. I called the number on the door and got a quick response, maybe that’s how they keep prices down. So, not bad, not great. :)

I’ve been trying for weeks to reach reception here, with no luck. The office looks deserted, almost like something from a horror movie. I tried every number on the signs and door, and no one answers. Please don’t book here. There are lots of affordable Airbnbs and other places to stay in Bedford.

This felt like a low-income motel with hardly any amenities. It seems like a bit of a tourist trap for people expecting a good deal. It wasn’t a nice or clean place to stay.

We arrived at 9:30 after a long day and found the office closed. We’d booked a night through Expedia five days earlier, and the confirmation email said to contact the motel for late check-in. We were visiting a sick family member in the hospital and knew we’d arrive late. After many unanswered calls, we assumed our reservation meant we could simply show up. The man we reached at the help number said the motel was full and there was nothing he could do. What’s the point of a reservation if it doesn’t hold your room? With the tall ships in town, finding another place was hard. We nearly had to pay $300 at a different hotel, but then found a motel up the road with a cancellation. They let us bring two cots into a single queen room. I wouldn’t recommend this motel. It was very unprofessional and disorganized.
