Our king suite was spacious and lovely, with two TVs, two sofas, and a separate living area that made it feel homey. It was clean, and the staff were polite. We only stayed one night.

I was treated so poorly that I cancelled my loyalty card and membership and transferred all my points to Aeroplan. I won’t get into the specifics, but hotel staff and managers should remember to treat people like people, not just apply policies and procedures. Also, bring physical ID. They wouldn’t accept a digital passport or driver’s licence on a phone, which made the stay frustrating.

The staff were really nice, and the remodeled hotel is in good shape. There’s free parking and internet, a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, plus a courtyard grill. I got a lighter from the restaurant to use with the grill. The food was good, and there’s also a gym, pool, and hot tub. But the pool was ice cold, and the chemicals in the hot tub irritated my skin. Those were the reason I booked, so three stars.

The hotel was clean and in good condition, but I can’t rate it higher than one star after these problems. The lock malfunctioned and left me locked in the room several times. There’s also a charge on my credit card that nobody has explained. I’m seriously concerned about how my personal information, including card details and email addresses, is handled, and believe it violates several PCI compliance standards and privacy laws. Melissa and Erica were no help. They said that since I’d checked out, they couldn’t see transactions tied to my card, which I believe is wrong and illegal.
