Pring Guesthouse - Hostel

Tim was a really kind and helpful host. He let me leave my luggage after checkout so I wouldn’t have to lug it around while exploring town, and he was knowledgeable about Hamilton and the house’s history. He was pleasant to chat with, too. I stayed in the dorm and found the bed comfortable and not too small. The hostel is in an old mansion, so it isn’t as neat and modern as some chain hostels, but it feels cozy and spacious. Just keep in mind that the neighborhood, though not far from Hamilton downtown, isn’t the cleanest or nicest looking.

The dorm and living areas were comfortable even in the cold, and the people here felt like a little community. With shelters turning people away, this place was a real help when I was stranded in hamiltion after my Holiday plans fell through. I hope they keep doing more with vulnerable folks, because I saw them do some real good. My only gripe is that the hospitality fee adds up when you book separately. Paying 700 for almost three weeks felt fair, though a weekly rate might make it better.

The owner, Tim, was so friendly and accommodating. I needed somewhere for one night, and staying in a women-only dorm at an LGBTQ+ friendly place made me feel safe and included. The bed was simple but comfortable, and there were lots of facilities.

The kitchen was easy to use, with utensils labeled so you didn’t have to dig through a thousand drawers. Clear instructions helped everyone keep things tidy, and the guesthouse was very clean, with respectful guests. I stayed in the spacious, clean faust room and slept well in its comfortable bed. Staff welcomed me and made check-in quick and simple. They showed me around the house, provided towels for the hot shower, and had a nice breakfast with oats, cookies, and cereal. Coffee and tea were free, which I really appreciated. Thanks so much, my stay was amazing. Love and light
