Canalta High River

The pool and hot tub were a nice part of our stay, and on our last morning the breakfast attendant even made omelettes to order. My wife and I were at Canalta High River between Christmas and New Year's Day in 2025. The rooms were clean and had the amenities we needed, and everyone on staff was friendly and eager to make the visit pleasant. We’d choose this hotel again if we’re back in the High River area.

The pool, fitness room, and on-site laundry were especially useful after a week on the road, and everything was exceptionally clean. We had a beautiful room with a stunning mountain view. Breakfast had everything you could want, and Canalta had nothing basic about it.

Paul at High River Donair and Pizza was awesome too. At the hotel, William from the night staff was such a kind soul when I met him, and I wish him well. We were there with our hockey team while three other teams were staying as well. The staff handled the crowded breakfast area, pool, and lobby with smiles and no fuss. Chambers at the front desk in the evenings was delightful and very accommodating, and Wendy, the manager, responded quickly. Our team couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. I’d gladly recommend Canalta in High River.

Being able to walk to grocery stores and other places nearby is handy. I especially value the fitness room when I’m traveling for work. At many hotels it’s a tiny neglected space with broken gear, but this one is a fully equipped mini rec centre. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms feel luxurious, and the view is stunning. Breakfast is really good too, with plenty to choose from. I love this hotel and highly recommend it.
