The room was spotless and so comfortable that I felt at home. I spent two nights and three days here on my first trip to Victoria, and it became an unforgettable stay. The owner couple were kind and made the best breakfast I’ve ever had. In the morning, they can also take you to say hello to the donkeys if you’d like. Tucked away in the forest, the property is surrounded by nature, with birds, sheep, donkeys, friendly dogs, and cats around. I’m already looking forward to coming back and seeing them again.

Cathy’s breakfast was super delicious, and she and Erroll gave us great suggestions for what to see on the island during the rest of our trip. We stayed at Misty Meadows Bed and Breakfast for two nights, and felt welcome from the start. The room was cozy, the place was awesome, and Cathy and Erroll were really friendly hosts. After our Alaska cruise, we were glad to find somewhere quiet away from Victoria’s hustle and bustle. Cathy and her husband welcomed us warmly, chatted with us, and made great breakfasts using local fare. The room was comfortable, with an updated en-suite. Be sure to visit the donkeys and have a look at the sheep.

I was glad to see the property listed on Expedia as “service animal friendly,” but when I contacted the owners ahead of my planned three-night stay, they told me my fully certified service dog couldn’t come into the bedroom. The options they gave were for the dog to sleep in the car or be crated in the kitchen. They said they get more bookings from people with dog allergies than from people with service dogs. I’m sharing this in particular for parents traveling with children who have service dogs. Finding this out at the door could be very traumatic, especially for neurodivergent kids, if you don’t know the extent of these conditions beforehand. The couple seem lovely in the photos, the property looks amazing, and the reviews are great, so I’m sure it’s a great stay if you’re traveling without a service animal.
